Before We Began

Dr. Noble took a leave of absence from teaching at a community college to write a book proposal. She had research, passion, and time — but she didn’t know how to put together a proposal.

What’s The Big Idea?

Low-income minority parents and kids know more about equity and belonging than priviledged white parents and kids.

The Outcome

We don’t yet know! Things are still bubbling… but I wanted to share Dr. Noble’s words because success doesn’t only come when the book comes out. Success comes when you do good work.

In Her Own Words

“Working with Jennie was far beyond what I ever expected from a book coach. Her excitement and passion are what I first noticed on our initial call and her ability to hear what I really wanted to write during my disjointed explanation was what sealed the deal. Her process for writing a book proposal is so straightforward and clear. It takes all the guesswork out of what you need to include so you can make sure you are really getting your main point across - letting the idea of the book really shine. Jennie's ability to pull from my brain the key points and messages I wanted to convey wowed me almost as much as her edits to my proposal that made sure I got those points across in my unique voice. She got me to move from feeling like I had a passion for my topic to feeling like I actually had an idea that the world needed to see. She helped me see the larger vision of writing a book and all that it can do. I can't believe how fast I put together all the elements of the proposal - including actual chapters! It's one thing to want to write a book, but it's another when you actually see that you have completed writing actual chapters! This was everything I knew I was looking for in a book coach (structure, accountability, expertise, guidance) and more (excitement, insider knowledge, passion, honesty)! I am so thankful I found Jennie and was able to work with her.”
